Neilson House – Watford

In a safe and homely environment, we offer a person-centred supported living service for young adults with learning disabilities to empower independent living.

Neilson House is a bright and modern town house located in Watford that offers a supported living service to young adults with a primary diagnosis of learning disabilities. We aim to ensure that all young adults who live here are able to lead fulfilling lives, with the right support to be independent and reach their potential, regardless of their abilities.

Our team of support staff are committed and proud to work with all of our clients. By working together we look to build on each other’s strengths, skills and knowledge to create a positive can-do environment. It is an environment like this that enables all of our supported living service users to develop in confidence and enjoy as much independence as they are able.

The staff at Neilson House believe that being within the community should be for all, and we therefore encourage our clients to be part of local community beyond the confines of the house. Where possible we actively encourage clients to partake in voluntary activities, education and leisure within the surrounding area.

A lifelong commitment to individualised care

While each of our Protea homes may differ in appearance, all have a shared part in our own specialist practices and expertise. Our highly trained staff are able to care for a wide range of diagnoses, and Neilson House is just one of our homes dedicated to providing supported living to young adults with learning disabilities. Regular training and supplementary learning ensure that our staff are able to continue to uphold their high standards.

Each service user is given their own personalised support and care plan that empowers them to live as independently as possible, working towards personal goals to aid with their own development. Within a safe, warm and welcoming environment, service users are encouraged and guided in daily skills to develop in confidence.

From meal preparation and daily household chore, to budgeting, correspondence and even continuing education, we want to ensure that each client can live his or her life to its fullest potential.
