Supported Living Services
We put our services users at the centre of our supported living care and, with our personalised support, enable adults with mental health concerns or learning disabilities to live as independently as possible in shared or single accommodation.
Protea offers a range of supported living options to ensure our service users receive the right level of support and feel comfortable and happy in our homes. From group houses to shared and single flats, we provide accommodation that is safe, warm and welcoming. Service users are also encouraged to bring in their belongings to personalise their surroundings.
Protea’s supported living services welcome tenants of both sexes and, with our experienced and knowledgeable team, can support a wide range of complex needs and challenging behaviours. Through individual assessment and continuous review, we work closely with the service user, their family and carers and industry professionals to implement support and care plans that empower the service user to live as independently as possible.
Facilitating independent living skills and community integration
We promote independence by supporting our service users with daily living skills and integration in the local community. This support may include:
- cooking and meal preparation – educating service users on healthy eating and teaching basic cookery skills
- budgeting and correspondence – supporting individuals with financial applications, managing utility bills and liaising with professional bodies
- household chores – facilitating house meetings to encourage all residents to take care of their accommodation
- support with college, vocational and non-vocational courses
- encouraging participation in community or multicultural activities.
All the support provided by Protea is regulated by the CQC, in line with the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. Our staff are fully supported by the management team in upholding these standards, providing ongoing training and additional reinforcement, where appropriate.
