Residential Care Homes
When individuals are unable to stay in their own home or need 24-hour support, our residential care homes offer a warm, safe and caring environment for adults with mental health issues or learning disabilities.
Our residential care homes offer a home-from-home environment, where individuals are provided with the optimum level of care for them to feel supported but as independent as possible.
This aim is achieved by offering:
- day-to-day support for the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each individual
- a comfortable and safe environment to live in
- engaging activities for improved total wellbeing
- fostering an environment of independence and own personal choice
- privacy and dignity throughout all care provision and with own room
The expertise of Protea's highly professional and experienced team allows us to deliver the best possible care for a wide range of needs, however complex or challenging. Our residential services meet the needs of individuals with learning disabilities, including those on the autistic spectrum, or mental health illnesses, as well as providing care for those who may be considered vulnerable or at risk of injury or abuse. Residents of both sexes are welcome.
Individualised support plans and activities
Support staff assess, prepare and implement personal support plans, based around each service users' unique needs, preferences and aspirations.
This support may include:
- personal care
- meals and drinks (including special dietary requirements)
- personal laundry
- assistance with managing utility bills and correspondence
- leisure activities, both internally and externally
Personal choice is essential in ensuring our service users feel at home, as well as encouraging their independence. We want residents to treat their rooms as their own, personalising them and having their personal items, such as TV, radio and furniture, around them.
